The New Orleans Saints were stunned when they let Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs run free for a 61-yard game winning touchdown to win 29-24 and book a spot in the NFC Championship game.
While all Saints fans are still in shock, one New Orleans newspaper decided to sum up the defeat perfectly with today's cover.
The headline, which reads "Expletive, Expletive, Expletive," is spot on with how many Saints fans most likely feel right now.
In a game where the tables really started to turn after the Saints overcame a 17-0 deficit to take a late 24-23 lead with under a minute to go, they were left falling apart on the final play. That's a play that will be stuck in the minds of Saints fans for the whole offseason until they can get a fresh start in 2018.
What makes a loss like this tough to swallow is that the Saints pretty much had control of the game when the Vikings only had 10 seconds left with the ball out of field goal range. Fans didn't even get a chance to prepare for a loss like this since they were preparing to win the game and celebrate. It happened so fast.
Hang in there, Saints fans. I wish I could say it will get better, but with sports, you never know.
