Cole Hamels and his wife are in giving spirit this holiday season, and boy, did they give in a HUGE way.

They have donated their mansion and an entire 100-acre estate to Camp Barnabas, a camp for kids who suffer from chronic illnesses and have special needs.

The Hamels purchased the mansion years ago but never ended up living there. They now reside in Texas, of course, as the All-Star lefty had to permanently relocate to pitch for the Rangers.

Hamels says that they were looking for charities in southwest Missouri to make this donation to, and felt that Camp Barnabas was the charity that could most benefit.

The Springfield News-Leader cites a news release from Hamels, stating, "Barnabas really pulled on our heartstrings. Seeing the faces, hearing the laughter, reading the stories of the kids they serve; there is truly nothing like it. Barnabas makes dreams come true, and we felt called to help them in a big way.”

Kids of Camp Barnabas must be thrilled by this generosity from Cole and his wife. Just an awesome gesture from an awesome family.
