The wait for a new general manager for the Cleveland Browns was a short one. Earlier in the day, the team fired Sashi Brown.
Now, they've got his replacement.
It's been reported that Cleveland has been seriously thinking about hiring Dorsey for the past couple of weeks.
After the New York Giants fired GM Jerry Reese, Cleveland ownership accelerated that plan by firing Brown and bringing in Dorsey before the Giants were able to do so.
During his tenure with the Chiefs, the team made the playoffs three times in his four-year tenure. Not only that, but he single-handedly spearheaded the big draft day trade with the Buffalo Bills in order to draft Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
After Brown passed on Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson in the previous two drafts, Cleveland felt that bringing in an executive like Dorsey would help turn around their bad luck with drafting.
Dorsey will be introduced to the Cleveland Browns in a press conference on Friday. Big move by Cleveland.
