The Shohei Ohtani saga just took another turn and this one might signify the closing of the sweepstakes.
Two west coast teams have both made deals with the Minnesota Twins to add international bonus money for their pursuit of the Japanese superstar.
The Mariners and Twins are close to agreeing on a deal to send international bonus money to Seattle. The Mariners are one of the seven finalists for Ohtani, so it's no surprise active general manager Jerry Dipoto is doing all he can to give his team the best chance.
The Mariners are making a real push for Ohtani.
The Mariners have some competition though.
According to Ken Rosenthal, the Angels have also just made a deal with the Twins to help clear space for Ohtani.

Ohtani and Mike Trout could be quite the combo in Los Angeles.
The Twins are taking full advantage of this situation, and rightfully so.
It might be only a matter of days before Ohtani makes his final decision. Buckle up, baseball fans!!
