While the Boston Celtics enjoy their success with Kyrie Irving as their leader, the Cleveland Cavaliers are currently struggling without their star guard.
Although the Cavs received Isaiah Thomas in the deal with Boston, it turns out they had a deal for Irving with another team.
In fact, the Indiana Pacers offered Paul George for Kyrie Irving, but Cleveland didn't accept the offer, per a report.

Once this trade offer got out, Irving asked to be dealt shortly after. The star point guard demanded a trade and has flourished in his new role.
Even though Cleveland accommodated their own player and team, fans still think they made a massive mistake trading him away.
Daily reminder: the #Cavs traded a once in a generation pg (#Kyrie Irving) to their biggest conf. rival (the #Celtics) for essentially nothing in return. Totally unfathomable. Worst trade of all time. #MaskedKyrie is now a Celtic. pic.twitter.com/dQZzjqAcIE— Brett Aronwicz (@realaronwicz) November 12, 2017
The trade can't be fully graded until Isaiah Thomas returns to the court, nonetheless the Celtics definitely have embraced their All-Star guard.
As for Indiana Pacers fans, they can only imagine what a duo of Irving and Myles Turner could have been.
