The Eagles are 5-1. Do you hear that Philly fans?

It's been an incredible start for the NFC East-leading team, and Carson Wentz has been a big reason for their unexpected success. Sure, we thought the Eagles would be good this year, but a 5-1 start is pretty incredible given the way they've handled their opponents thus far.

Their latest victory came on the road in Carolina on Thursday Night Football. Wentz led the charge and the defense picked off Cam Newton three times en route to a 28-23 victory.

Wentz tossed three touchdowns, two of which went to his favorite target, tight end Zach Ertz. Wideout Nelson Agholor hauled in the other score, as Wentz finished with 222 yards and a quarterback rating of 110.7.

But let's not forget about the Eagles defense. In fact, the unit was so good, at one point it looked like it was playing offense.

Aside from Newton's scrambles, the Panthers couldn't get ANY run game going. The Eagles held Carolina to just 80 rushing yards, 71 of which came from Newton, who was also sacked twice on the night.

The Eagles were missing a few guys in this one, including Lane Johnson and Wendell Smallwood on the offensive side of the ball, but that didn't affect the team's play much. The defense stepped up and the offense made the plays when it needed to.

And now Philly is atop the NFC.
