Five-star offensive tackle recruit Jackson Carman is a primary target for the Ohio State Buckeyes, but his recent comments could put an end to the pursuit.
Carman went on a Twitter tirade, criticizing Buckeyes QB J.T. Barrett's play during their matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners. Carman said that Ohio State should start Dwayne Haskins in place of Barrett.
After gaining the ire of ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit, Carman went as far to say that he is a better fit in Clemson than in Ohio State.
Here is the tweet in question.
Pretty sure I wouldn't have any problems in Dabo Swinney's or Clay Helton's locker room for my OPINION on OSU's qb issues. 樂 https://t.co/FMVwGpAJ2J— T H E J I A N T (@Jackthejiant) September 13, 2017
There is a certain way to handle being a highly-touted recruit, and this is one way not to do that. Yes, Carman is expressing his opinion and he has not committed to Ohio State, but you have to believe that other teams are looking at his actions on social media.
Let's not forget that Carman is getting into a social media argument with a highly respected college football analyst in Herbstreit.
Carman might have burned a bridge with the Buckeyes, but it will be interesting to see if his words have cost him an opportunity at playing for various other schools.
