Seriously, this has to be the least surprising PED suspension ever.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, Brian Cushing was suspended for using performance enhancing drugs today. Not only has Cushing been suspended for this before, but it's been a running joke that he's used PEDs for years.
It's beyond ridiculous at this point, and it's time for the Texans to just part ways with the New Jersey native.
Cushing has had one good season in the last four years, and that's with the PEDs. The Texans know how bad he's been, or else they wouldn't have used early round picks on Benardrick McKinney and Zach Cunningham in recent years.
Death taxes and Brian Cushing popped for PEDs or put with season ending injury.— DevlinzelWashington™ (@chrisdevlin7700) September 13, 2017
Cushing is also injured all the time, so he's barely ever on the field. Between the suspensions, injuries, lackluster play and the readily available replacements the Texans have at his position, you have to wonder why they're keeping him around at this point.
The Texans can cut him after the season for a minimal penalty, and they should do exactly that.
