It's going to be a homecoming for one former Thunder front office executive.
Rob Hennigan is set to come back on board the Oklahoma City front office team to presumably fill the vacancy left by former assistant GM Michael Winger, who recently departed to become the GM of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Former Orlando Magic GM Rob Hennigan has been hired by the OKC Thunder, league sources told @BBallInsiders.— Michael Scotto (@MikeAScotto) September 13, 2017
Hennigan spent four seasons with the Thunder before ultimately leaving to take a job with Orlando to become their GM.
At the time of the move, Hennigan became the youngest GM in NBA history coming on with the Magic at just 30 years old.
Hennigan, now 35, appears to be humbled to come back to Oklahoma City and eager to try to build something special now that the team has paired Russell Westbrook with a crime partner.
It's shaping up to be a stark difference from last year's Thunder.
Now that Sam Presti has his right hand man back in the saddle, we should all but expect the Thunder to make some serious noise this season.
