Who's side are you on?
Tracy McGrady, who was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame last night, made some comments about the Hall of Fame.
McGrady said: "You have to have a great team and some luck to get a ring, right? Unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with that. But I go back at them with this: Anybody can win a championship. Everybody can't get in the Hall of Fame."
Cleveland Cavaliers guard had an issue with McGrady's comments, and posted this tweet:
This man really said "anyone can win a ring but not everyone can make it to the Hall Of Fame?" Soooo no one else thinks that dumb as hell???— JR Smith (@TheRealJRSmith) July 31, 2017
People were torn about Smith's comment, but McGrady remained concrete on his stance, and did not hold back at all.
McGrady makes the most sense here. Guys that have warmed the bench will end up with a couple of rings, but McGrady was on lesser teams, and led them to over achieve.
Many guys have built their legacy on being the alpha male on lesser teams, and their greatness is weighed off that, and not exactly winning championships.
If Smith wants example of McGrady's point, he can look to his teammate LeBron James of why he is in the wrong in this situation.
