In a shocking turn of events, the Washington Nationals have called up their top overall prospect, outfielder Victor Robles.

The 20-year-old is not on the 40-man roster so the team will have to make a corresponding move to make this official.

Robles has yet to play above Double-A, but in 114 games between two minor league levels the uber-talented prospects has slashed .300/.382/.493 with 55 extra-base hits (10 home runs), 47 RBI and 27 stolen bases.

Despite his age and lack of experience in the upper levels of the minor leagues, Robles is considered one of the best handful of prospects in the sport. He possesses raw power and has the innate ability to get on base on a consistent basis.

This simply could be to give him some big league experience in the final month of the season, but it could be an indictment on the nature of Bryce Harper's injury and the uncertainty surrounding when he'll return.
