Preseason has its issues, and can be deemed as pointless and hazardous. Fans have been clamoring for a long time now that preseason should either be scrapped or shortened. Yesterday does not do the preseason any justice as we have our first major injury in the NFL.

Linebacker Trent Murphy of the Washington Redskins has torn his ACL, and will be out for the remainder of the season.

Murphy was suspended on April 14th for violating the NFL's drug policy.

Murphy left yesterday's preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens after getting his ankle rolled up on in the first quarter.

This is a huge blow for the Redskins as he is a big part of the Redskins defense. Already in the preseason Murphy is gone, and Su'a Cravens can potentially be out for some time as well.

Tough break indeed.
