Marketing stunt or not, Tim Tebow can play. Well, sort of. He can hit the ball far sometimes.
Tonight marks the 31st game Tebow has spent with the St. Lucie Mets, the high-A ball affiliate of the New York Mets. He is hitting over .300 in those games, and tonight, he went yard again.

That homer was the fifth in the 31 games he has played with St. Lucie. It is also his eighth overall in the minors this season.

But yeah, gimmick something or other
At this point, we have to come together as a baseball and community and recognize Tebow for what he's doing. Yes, it's Single-A baseball, but this guy was in the NFL just a couple years ago. He hadn't even played in a baseball game since high school before joining the Mets organization.
Credit where it's due. Tim Tebow can play baseball. There's no doubt about that.
