When the injury bug bites before the season begins, the news is never good.
Fortunately for Lonnie Walker and the Miami Hurricanes, Walker's knee injury is not going to force him to miss that much time.
Walker tore his meniscus during offseason practice and will have surgery. A timetable is not set for his return, but he should be ready before games start in the fall. While knee surgery is never fun, this could have been worse.
For everyone asking I did tear my meniscus. But I promise this will not slow me down. Minor setback for a major comeback 落 Isaiah:40-29— Bruce Lee (@lonniewalker_4) July 12, 2017
Walker is a top 20 recruit from Pennsylvania and is going to be a major part of the Hurricanes' plans this season. Walker is part of the ninth-ranked 2017 class for the Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes got contributions from freshman last year like Bruce Brown, and Walker could be the missing piece. The ACC is always competitive, but the Hurricanes are well positioned if Walker's recovery goes well.
