It doesn't get more tragic than this.
Ever year, the U.S. Open occurs during Father's Day weekend, giving dads all around the country a reason to sit in front of the TV and take a day-long nap until waking up to see the final three holes.
The tournament officially kicked off earlier this week, and spectators have flooded Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wisconsin to watch the biggest names in golf take to their tees and try their best to bring home a major.
Unfortunately, there is now a dark cloud looming over the event. The USGA released a statement earlier today after a spectator tragically passed away during the event.
No other information has been released surrounding the horrible situation, other than reports that it was an elderly spectator that has died.
Stay tuned for more updates into this tragedy.
