Finally, we have confirmation.

The long-speculated boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is on, and it's coming soon.

According to reports, the two notoriously loudmouthed fighters will take the ring on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas.

Yes, this is really happening.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has approved Aug. 26 as the date for a Mayweather Promotions fight at MGM Grand Garden Arena, according to reports.

Now that the news has leaked, an official announcement is imminent.

McGregor seemed to confirm the fight, and — as expected — is already talking some smack on social media.

The 28-year-old McGregor last fought in the UFC in November and boasts a 21–3 record in the octagon.

Mayweather, 40, is undefeated in the ring — going 49-0— but retired from boxing in 2015. Twenty-six of his wins were by knockout, and he was only knocked to the canvas once during his nearly two decades in the ring.

Does McGregor have a shot in the ring? Vegas doesn't seem to think so. Here are the opening odds for the fight.

It should be one of the most unique events in recent memory, if both parties follow through and this fight actually happens.

One thing is for certain: expect both fighters to rev up their trash talk in the weeks to come.
