It was a historic night on Saturday in Major League Soccer as 16-year-old Jesus Ferreira became the second-youngest player in league history to score a goal.

Additionally, he also became the youngest player to ever make an appearance for FC Dallas.

The Texas native was making his professional debut for the club and scored in the 89th minute in Dallas' 6-2 rout of Real Salt Lake.

Michael Barrios floated in a ball to the wide open Ferreira, who calmly dispatched it past the goalkeeper.

The only other player to score at a younger age than Ferriera was Freddy Adu, who scored at the age of 14 for D.C. United.

Ferriera is considered to be one of the bright young prospects in the MLS as he was signed to a homegrown contract in November of 2016.

He scored an impressive 48 times in 50 starts during his youth career for Dallas.
