A lot has been made of the Yankees farm system this Spring Training.

Jorge Mateo is here to show why the Yankees earned the No. 1 ranked farm system in the entire MLB.

In today's Yankees MiLB Spring Training game against the minor league Toronto Blue Jays squad, Mateo unleashed a deep shot into the right field corner. What's unique about Mateo is that he has unreal speed What would be a double for any other player is a triple for Mateo.

Mateo showed off that speed, with his helmet flying off after rounding first base being the icing on the cake, reaching third base just as the ball reached the cutoff man.

With Didi Gregorious playing shortstop for the Yankees and Yankees top prospect Gleyber Torres looking to be the Yankees shortstop of the future, Mateo's spot at that position was in a grey area. Now, the Yankees are beginning the transition phase to make Mateo a center fielder, as well as make spot starts at shortstop and second base.

"We feel like he still has adjustments to make offensively that we would like for him to start in the Florida State League this year and get off to a good start and see what happens, whether he's able to make it to the next level or higher," said Yankees vice president of player development Gary Denbo. "But from all indications that we've got this spring, he's already in the process of making those adjustments."

Mateo will be starting off the season with the high-A Tampa Yankees. Whatever position Mateo plays at, he is certainly getting Yankees' fans talking after watching the speed he exudes in this video.
