Nobody told New York Yankees slugger Gary Sanchez to check for oncoming traffic before digging in at the plate.

If somebody had told him that on Monday, maybe he would have been more careful about launching a home run right onto the street.

Since bursting on to the scene at the end of last season, Sanchez's continued development as a slugger has been a marvel to watch. This spring, he has been hitting as well as ever.

After hitting 20 home runs in just 53 games during his rookie season, opposing pitchers already knew to cower in fear when Sanchez steps up to the plate.

Maybe motorists should take heed.
