Derrick Rose is more than likely to ditch what has become a disaster in New York to join another team where he can be in a winning situation while earning heavy minutes. He is reportedly interested in the Milwaukee Bucks, but here are three other teams he should consider instead.
3. Minnesota Timberwolves
If the Minnesota Timberwolves could once and for all find a trade partner for Ricky Rubio, it would be ideal for them to replace the Spaniard with Derrick Rose, the player they sorely wanted at the deadline. It would be a Rose-Tom Thibodeau reunion in Minnesota, and the veteran point guard may flourish under his former coach. Rose would perhaps complement the young core really well if he can play at the level he is right now and is injury-free.
2. Denver Nuggets
With Emmanuel Mudiay beginning to accumulate DNP-CDs and Jameer Nelson aging, the Denver Nuggets would be the perfect situation for Derrick Rose. He would instantly take over the starting point guard role and could possibly escalate the Nuggets to a different level. Rose would be able to dominate the ball if he would like in Denver, as he would be given the freedom to run the offense since the Nuggets don't have any other superstars. Him and Nikola Jokic would become the perfect one-five combination.
1. Detroit Pistons
Since the Pistons have been reportedly unhappy with Reggie Jackson they should maybe try a sign-and-trade for Derrick Rose in the summer. The Pistons don't have a superstar player that demands the ball offensively. Their best player, Andre Drummond, essentially needs a point guard that could get him wide open dunks. If Rose is given full control of the offense, he could be the point guard Drummond needs, as the former MVP has the ability to draw defenses with his quickness and has the craftiness to make slick passes in traffic. Rose would potentially be a better fit in Detroit than Jackson, who has more of a scorers mentality.
