Plenty of changes have been made on the Washington coaching staff of late and now the team has found its new offensive coordinator.

On Monday morning, the team announced that Matt Cavanaugh will be taking over the offense for head coach Jay Gruden.

For the past two seasons, Cavanaugh has been Washington's quarterbacks coach, helping Kirk Cousins record back-to-back record-breaking seasons.

Last year, Cousins threw for a franchise-record 4,917 yards and added 25 touchdown passes. This will be Cavanaugh's third stint as an offensive coordinator, previously holding the job with the Chicago Bears and the Baltimore Ravens.

Cavanaugh takes over the OC responsibilities for Sean McVay, who accepted the head coaching job with the LA Rams earlier this month.
